ILOILO – The new set of officers of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Iloilo Chapter vowed full support to the administration of Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr.
They took their oath before Defensor on Sept. 5 at Hotel del Rio in Iloilo City.
The following are the newly elected officers and board of directors:
* President – Rosario Mediatrix P. Fernandez (San Enrique)
* Vice President – Jett C. Rojas (Ajuy)
* Secretary – Geefre A. Alonsabe (Alimodian)
* Treasurer – Nathalie Ann F. Debuque (Anilao)
* Auditor – Francis A. Amboy (Maasin)
* Business Manager – Manuel C. Ganzon (Balasan)
* PRO – Jaime E. Esmeralda (Igbaras)
* General Counsel – Suzette T. Alquisada (Tigbauan)
The members of the Board of Directors:
* Carina V. Flores (Oton)
* Lawrence Anthony G. Gorriceta (Pavia)
* Mark P. Palabrica (Bingawan)
* Nielo C. Tupas (Barotac Viejo)
* John H. Tarrosa (Zarraga)
* Macario N. Napulan (Miagao)
* Ronaldo B. Golez (Dumangas)

LMP-Iloilo president and San Enrique mayor Rosario Mediatrix Fernandez said will support all the initiatives and programs of the provincial government.
She also thanked the support given by the present administration to the municipalities.
“We will transcend political colors and unite and support each other as one LMP for the success of the organization and towards the success of the province,” Fernandez said.
She also assured that under her incumbency, she will make initiatives that will have great impact in the local level.
“With your help, I know we could go far,” she toldfellow mayors.
Governor Defensor sought the help of the mayors in implementing the solid waste management program.
He said the province is now scouting for a waste-to-energy program to address the problem on municipal wastes.
The governor also lauded the efforts of the mayor in mitigating the spread of the dengue disease. He attributed the decrease in the dengue cases in the previous month to the collective effort of the community and local officials. (LHC, Capitol News/PN)
