PH Football League: Melliza fires hat trick, Stallion trumps Global

MANILA – Ilonggo Jesus Melliza scored a hat trick to lead Stallion Laguna FC to a 9-1 rout of Global Makati FC in the 2019 Philippines Football League at the Biñan Football Stadium in Laguna.


Aside from the La Paz, Iloilo City native Melliza, Nathaniel Alquiros added two goals while Darwin Regala, Edris Najim, Reynald Villareal and Fitch Arboleda had one each.

Stallion Laguna immediately made its presence felt on Wednesday with goals from Regala and Najim at the third and seventh minute.

Villareal added another late in the opening half for a 3-0 count.
Melliza started his scoring spree in the second half with hits at the 46th and 50th minute.

Arboleda then made it 6-0 for Stallion Laguna with a 55th minute hit before Melliza completed his hat trick at the 67th minute.
Alquiros increased Stallion Laguna’s lead further to 8-0 at the 74th minute before Global Makati pulled one back on Paolo Salenga’s penalty kick.

Alquiros responded with his second goal at the 90th minute for an eight-point winning margin.


With the victory, Stallion Laguna improved its total to 32 points on nine wins, five draws and five losses for third place while Global Makati has seven points (one win, four draw, 13 losses)./PN
