BACOLOD City – Police arrested a drug suspect in Barangay 7, Victorias City, Negros Occidental.
The 40-year-old Alberto Arucan was caught on the strength of an arrest warrant around 12:05 p.m. on Thursday, a police report showed.
Arucan – resident of Barangay 1, Victorias City – had been hiding from the police for about 16 years, the report added.
Police officers served the warrant issued by Judge Reynaldo Alon of the Regional Trial Court Branch 40 in Silay City dated Oct. 10, 2003.
The suspect was detained in the lockup facility of the Victorias City police station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The court recommended a total of P260,000 bail bond for Arucan’s temporary liberty./PN
