BACOLOD City – A man and his son were arrested in separate house raids in Barangay Jerusalem, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
Armed with a search warrant, the police raided the house of barangay councilor Ronald Leonoras around 7 a.m. on Saturday, a police report showed.
An M16 armalite rifle with 24 live bullets and two empty magazines; and a .45-caliber pistol with six live bullets and a magazine were recovered from Ronald’s house, the report added.
According to authorities, Ronald has expired license for his .45-caliber firearm.
Meanwhile, the police also raided the house of Ronald’s son and barangay councilor Ernesto.
A .45-caliber pistol with one magazine and seven live bullets was confiscated from Ernesto’s house, police said.
The suspects were detained in the custodial facility of the Cadiz City police station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
