
BAGO CITY, Negros Occidental – Area 7 continued its domination in the track and field event of the Negros Provincial Meet 2019. It reached its penultimate day on Wednesday at the Manuel Torres Sports Center here.
Carla Largavista made up for her silver medal in the 3K event. She ruled the secondary girls 1,500-meter event. Fellow Area 7 sprinter Joyce Santia copped the bronze medal.
Julian Pranisa and Kyla Joe Loredo, meanwhile, scored gold and bronze medal finishes, respectively, in the secondary girls 200-meter dash.
Tristan Plorita and Marden Villaruel, on the other hand, swept the boys 200-meter dash gold with the former ruling the elementary and the latter topping the secondary event.
Other gold medal winners for the area were Kate Andrea Lim in secondary boys high jump and Amor Villavicencio secondary girls javelin throw.
All in all, the Addy and Miguel Arca-mentored tracksters had 11 golds, one silver and five bronze medals in the Provincial Meet that serve as qualifier for the WVRAA Meet slated next year in Aklan.
Meanwhile, NOPSSCEA also added a medal to its collection with Bacolod Tay Tung High School’s Antonette Jay Aguillon winning silver in secondary girls 200 meter dash./PN
