MANILA – Inflation likely settled within the 2.4 percent to 3.2 percent range in February, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ think tank said Friday.
Lower prices of petroleum products, electricity, rice and other food products are expected to temper inflation pressures for the month, the BSP’s Department of Economic Research said in a statement.
The central bank will remain “watchful” of developments to ensure price stability, it said.
The consumer price index rose 2.9 percent in January from 2.5 percent in the previous month. (ABS-CBN News)
