MANILA – The Department of Health said 22 infected Filipinos from the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan will be repatriated after they recovered from 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection.
On Feb. 25, 10 infected Filipinos who have recovered from the infection also returned to the country with over 400 other repatriates from the virus-hit cruise ship.
In a press briefing, Health Assistant Secretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said 32 in total have already recovered from the 80 initially reported infected Filipinos in Japan.
“Of those 32, 10 na po ‘yung napauwi natin dito. May naiwan pa pong 22 na sa ngayon ay inaayos pa ho through our embassy there and through our Department of Foreign Affairs,” she said.
“Malalaman po natin in the coming days kung papaano,” she added. (GMA NEWS/PN)
