ROXAS City – Various frontliners in this province were the recipients of the personal protective equipment (PPE) distributed by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) here in the fight against the coronavirus disease 2019.
According to TESDA-Capiz director Engr. Abdel Bakhri Hajan, washable face masks and face shields were distributed to the recipients yesterday.
He said: “We have initially allocated 30 face masks and 20 face shields per town and city.”
The provincial director added that TESDA-Capiz were also able to give the same PPEs to personnel of the Roxas City Police Station the Saint Anthony College Hospital and the media, who are also among the frontliners in the province.
The facemasks were sewed for free by TESDA’s trainers in Dumalag Technical Vocational School in Dumalag town, while the face shields were fabricated by TESDA’s provincial staff.
In addition, they also started making protective suits for the province’s frontliners.
“Some of the materials for the PPEs came from TESDA while other materials are also donated,” Hajan said.
TESDA-Capiz had so far made 792 face masks and 852 face shields. They will continue to make more PPEs when materials are once again available.(With a report from PIA/PN)
