ILOILO City – Police arrested a man who tried to steal a bag from a television reporter in Barangay President Roxas, City Proper.
Gerald Martinez of Barangay Tanza Esperanza, City Proper was caught around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, a police report showed.
He was accused of breaking into the car of Rena Dagoon, 42, of Barangay Ungka, Pavia, Iloilo.
Dagoon told police she was recording
footage of the situation in the area when she heard a noise from her vehicle.
And when Dagoon went on to check, she saw Martinez holding a belt bag
containing cash amounting to P2,148 and other identification cards he had
taken.
A brief scuffle ensued between Martinez and Dagoon, after which the latter sought assistance to police officers who were able to collar the suspect.
Martinez was immediately taken to the Police Station 1 for the filing of the appropriate case against him./PN
