BACOLOD City –A murder suspect in Barangay Banago in this city was killed by policemen who were tasked to serve his arrest warrant for murder.
The 29-year-old Fritz Deosanta died of a gunshot wound on the head, police said.
Armed with a warrant issued by a local court, personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group swooped down on the suspect’s house around 3:30 p.m. on May 12.
Deosanta attempted to escape, firing at the lawmen six times during a brief chase. This left the officers with no other option but shoot the fugitive.
Recovered from the crime scene was a black purse containing an empty plastic sachet, an improvise tooter and a used aluminum foil. Officers of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office were still investigating the incident as of this writing./PN
