ILOILO City – Forty-two policemen attended a two-day seminar on strengthening the relationship between the police organization and the community at the Multipurpose Hall of Camp Delgado, the headquarters of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) here.
The seminar on “Community- and Service-Oriented Policing” (CSOP) was from Sept. 29 to 30.
According to PRO-6 director, Police Brigadier Rene Pamuspusan, improving police-community relation at this time of coronavirus 2019 pandemic is important to manage the situation.
The seminar was conducted in coordination with the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Region 6 and local government units and endeavored to formulate strategies both inclusive and sustainable in line with PRO-6’s strategic direction which is ensuring lasting peace and order.
Pamuspusan considered the seminar a “retraining” or a “refresher” for policemen after seven months of focus on the pandemic.
Just recently, PRO-6 revitalized its “Pulis sa Barangay” program the goal of which is to maintain peace and order through a barangay based anti-crime strategy./PN
