FIRST-time mom Dianne Medina, 33, remembers her own struggle when she started breastfeeding her newborn son, Baby Joaquin.
“As much as possible, I want to exclusively breastfeed my son,” she said.
“Dun lang ako nagsa-struggle because sometimes, ‘yung milk supply ko mahina, sometimes naman ang dami niya. So hindi talaga siya consistent.”
Dianne admits feeling frustrated at times while breastfeeding her baby.
She noted, however, that the presence of her husband, Rodjun Cruz, and a strong support system have given her the strength to ward off her struggling days.
“Talagang ‘yung words of encouragement din niya (Rodjun) to support me with this breastfeeding journey,” she said. “And ‘yung support din ng pediatrician ni Joaquin and ‘yung mga doctors namin very supportive.”(Pep)
