ILOILO City – A police officer was injured in a road accident in Barangay Bita-og, Santa Barbara, Iloilo.
Police Patrolman Rency Madrenino was recuperating at the West Visayas State University Medical Center in Jaro district.
Madrenino, assigned at the Police Regional Office 6, sustained body injuries after the crash around 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 17.
According to police investigation, the motorcycle that Madrenino was riding was hit by a car driven by Francis Benedicto, 67, of Ledesco Village, Jaro district.
Benedicto turned himself in to the Santa Barbara police and vowed to pay the victim’s hospital expenses./PN
