ILOILO City – Police arrested five illegal gambling suspects in Barangay Jelicuon Montinola, Cabatuan, Iloilo.
The following face charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602: Cleofe Camba, 54; Rovie dela Peña, 23; Elizabeth Ducasi, 49; Emily Yniego, 31; and Elvira Ducasi, 71.
The suspects – all residents of the said village – were caught around 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 18 on the strength of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Carmela Mae Mallada-Tunguia of the 12th Municipal Circuit Trial Court (Cabatuan-Maasin, Iloilo).
They were taken to the municipal police station where they were detained.
The court recommended a P30,000 bail bond each for their temporary liberty.
It was, however, still unclear as of this writing if the suspects posted bail./PN
