SAN JOSE, Antique – A total of P11,365,000 financial assistance was released to 3,991 Antiqueños in 2020 through the various programs of the provincial government, according to the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).
Under the Aid to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program, P8,395,000 was released to 2,845 Antiqueños.
AICS targeted individuals displaced by calamities or were in need of burial assistance.
Twenty-five of the AICS beneficiaries were former rebels who received immediate cash assistance of P10, 000 each.
Fire victims on Marina Street, San Jose were provided financial assistance of P10,000 per family.
Eight Badjao families (43 individuals) were also beneficiaries of AICS. Each family received P5,000 for their transportation expenses going to the seaport in Dumangas, Iloilo and from there they were shipped to Jolo, Sulu.
Meanwhile, P2,970,000 was released to 1,146 senior citizens aged 85 years old and above, both indigent and non-indigent, under the Kabalaka ni Gobernadora kay Lolo kag Lola Program.
Out of the total, 17 seniors citizens were aged 100 years old and above; 492 were aged 95 to 99 years old; 152 were between 90 and 94 years old; and 485 were between 85 and 89 years old./PN
