BACOLOD City – A man was shot to death in front of his neighbor’s house in Barangay Progreso, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.
The 41-year-old Lester John Belbar sustained multiple gunshot wounds, a police report showed.
Belbar was browsing through his mobile phone when attacked by an unidentified suspect around 9:15 p.m. on Feb. 1.
He was rushed to the Binalbagan Infirmary but was later declared “dead on arrival.”
A motorcycle-driving companion picked the shooter up and they sped away after the incident.
Police recovered five empty bullet shells of a .9mm-caliber pistol from the crime scene.
As of this writing, the gunman remained unidentified. Investigation was ongoing./PN
