
TABUK CITY, Kalinga — A soldier landed in jail for allegedly shooting two men, killing one of them, in Barangay Bulanao here.
Forty-year-old Denver Tubban, an employee of the Kalinga Provincial Government, died of six gunshot wounds on the body while 34-year-old Jenner Ewad was recuperating at a hospital after he sustained wounds on the back, a police report showed.
The suspect meanwhile was Corporal Denmark Baddongon, 33, of the Philippine Army’s 503rd Infantry Brigade, it added.
According to police investigators, the incident happened on Tuesday, Feb. 16. Baddongon, who was believed to be under the influence of liquor, shot the victims after Tubban failed to pay P2,000 cash he owed the suspect.
The suspect immediately fled the incident but eventually surrendered to his fellow soldiers.
