SAN JOSE, Antique – After 15 years of hiding, the second most wanted person in Antique has final been arrested.
Rape suspect Jose Tonding Jr., 36, was collared in Sitio Malumot, Barangay Panapaan 7, Bacoor City, Cavite around 12 noon on April 27.
Tonding made Barangay Panapaan 7, Bacoor City his new home after fleeing his native Purok Pigado, Barangay 8, San Jose, Antique over a decade ago.
He was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest (Criminal Case No. 06-03-7349) issued by Presiding Judge Rudy Castrojas of the Regional Trial Court (RTC), Branch 12 on May 2, 2006 yet.
No bail was recommended for the suspect’s temporary liberty.
The arrest was carried out by operatives of the Antique Police Provincial Office in coordination with the Cavite police.
Tonding was temporarily detained at the custodial facility of the Bacoor City police station. He would be turned over to RTC Branch 12.
The arrest was a result of the combined intelligence operation of the Laua-an, Antique police station, Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Antique provincial police, San Jose police station, Antique Provincial Field Unit of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Regional Intelligence Division of the Police Regional Office 6, Cavite provincial police, and Bacoor City police./PN
