CAPIZ – An employee of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Capiz 2nd Engineering District died after he was trapped in a fire in Barangay Poblacion, Dumalag, Capiz on Tuesday, past 1a.m.
The victim was identified as Eddiemart Alba, 43, a resident of the barangay.
Investigation by the Dumalag Fire Station showed that the fire originated from the house of Alba, specifically in the kitchen, and crept through four other houses within the compound.
Three of the houses were totally damaged including Alba’s house, while two were partially damaged.
The other two houses totally burned were owned by Tito Fecundo and Alicia Fecundo, while the partially burned houses were owned by Wilfredo Diocera and Florita Rubrico.
Three motorcycles were also razed by the fire.
The cost of the damage is estimated at P300, 000./PN
