ILOILO City – A jail officer died. His car crashed against a 12-wheeler truck in Barangay Tacas, Jaro district on Wednesday night.
The severely injured Senior Jail Officer 3 Allan Lignig, 49, was taken to the West Visayas State University Medical Center in La Paz district. He died hours after.
The victim – a resident of Barangay Lanit, Jaro – was homebound around 9:30 p.m. when his car collided with the truck driven by Raffy Boy Bitala, 36, from Sara, Iloilo.
Bitala was detained at the Jaro police station, facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting to physical injury./PN
