‘Bomb scare’ hits Bacolod Hall of Justice anew

BACOLOD City – This city’s Hall of Justice was evacuated yesterday morning after receiving a bomb threat, the second time this year.

According to Police Captain Paul Vincent Pendon, Police Station 2 commander, an employee received a phone call around 8 a.m. from an unknown caller, telling them there was a bomb in the building.

Security personnel immediately evacuated the individuals in the building. They called in the Explosive Ordnance Division (EOD) and K-9 units of the Bacolod City Police Office, Philippine Coast Guard and the Philippine Army to search the premises.After four hours of searching, the authorities declared an all-clear.

Investigation was ongoing.

On April 6 this year, the Hall of Justice also received a phone call claiming a bomb was planted at the Public Attorney’s Office in the building’s 3rd floor.

After hours of searching, authorities did not find explosives in the building./PN
