ILOILO – Creditors of the closed Rural Bank of Alimodian, Incorporated have until Sept. 7 to file their claims against the bank’s assets, according to the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC).
Claims filed beyond the deadline will be denied, and creditors will have to send their claims to liquidation court within two months after receiving the final notice of denial, or 20 days after the order that set the petition for assistance in the liquidation proceeding is published.
Those with a valid claim against the rural bank’s assets, including depositors with uninsured deposits that exceed the maximum deposit insurance coverage (MDIC) of P500,000, are eligible to file claims.
Claims may be submitted via e-mail to rbalimodian-pad@pdic.gov.ph, by mail addressed to the PDIC Public Assistance Department, or by appointment at the PDIC Public Assistance Center.
The prescribed Claim Form against the assets of the closed bank may be downloaded from the PDIC website, http://www.pdic.gov.ph/files/Claim_Form_Against_Assets_of_Closed_Banks.pdf.
Furthermore, the PDIC stated that depositors with account balances above the MDIC of P500,000 who have already filed claims for the insured portion of their deposits as of Sept. 7 are deemed to have filed claims for the uninsured portion or the amount in excess of the MDIC.
On May 6, the Monetary Board of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas ordered the closure of the Rural Bank of Alimodian and assigned the PDIC to take over and liquidate its assets.
The bank’s head office is located in Almacen St., Brgy. Poblacion, Alimodian. Its lone branch, Leon Branch, is located in Cabaluna St., Brgy. Poblacion, Leon./PN
