BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental is again bracing for a new surge in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said new cases were nearing triple digits these past few days.
“We should be alarmed,” Lacson said.
He reiterated his call for Negrenses to practice frequent hand washing, wearing of facemasks and face shields, and physical distancing.
Here are the new cases recorded by the province in the past five days: Sept. 3 – 78; Sept. 4 – 69; Sept. 5 – 133; Sept. 6 – 123; and Sept. 7 – 68.
As of Sept. 7, Negros Occidental had 1,284 active COVID-19 cases./PN
