CAPIZ – The Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital’s (RMPH) application for accreditation for the Surgical Residency Training Program has been granted.
The accreditation was recently confirmed to the RMPH’s Department of Surgery by the Philippine College of Surgeons.
“Ang pagpa-accredit sang Department of Surgery isa sa mga tikang nga ginbuhat sang tagdumalahan sang RMPH agud labi nga mapasanyog ang serbisyo nga ginahatag sa publiko,” the RMPH management posted in its Facebook page.
It was 2019 yet when the RMPH Department of Surgery expressed interest to apply for the said program. The coronavirus pandemic slowed it down, however.
On Aug. 26, 2021, a virtual accreditation visit of the hospital facility and its employees finally pushed through.
Headed by Dr. Edmarie Magallanes-Tormon, OIC Chief of Hospital II of RMPH and an ENT surgeon, hospital colleagues also pushed for the realization of the program such as Dr. Jheimar Francisco, head, Department of Surgery; Dr. Roy Jason Montecillo, Designated Training Officer; and other consultants such Dr. Jim Edward Bacus, Dr. Harvey Glen Suboc, and Dr. Randolph Deocampo./PN
