BACOLOD City – This city and Iloilo City have both reopened their sea borders but only OceanJet Fast Ferry Corp. resumed its operation yesterday morning.
The other fast crafts plying the Bacolod-Iloilo City route deemed it wise to gauge the volume of passengers first before deciding whether to resume operations or not.
According to the Coast Guard Station-Negros Occidental, 95 passengers traveled to Iloilo City yesterday morning – 39 on the first trip and the rest on the second trip.
In a radio interview, Frank Carbon, operator of Weesam Express, said they would like to observe the volume of passengers first to determine if it is already feasible for other fast craft operators to resume.
Based on the travel protocols issued by the local governments of Bacolod and Iloilo, travelers are required to show their vaccination cards via the S-PaSS system.
Travelers who are unable to produce a valid vaccination card, meanwhile, are being required to present a negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test./PN
