BACOLOD City – There were no reported coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) deaths in this city for this month (as of Dec. 6), data from the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) showed.
Dr. Chris Sorongon, deputy for medical and data analysis of EOC, made the clarification following the six deaths reported by the Department of Health (DOH), as of Dec. 5.
These deaths were in last month yet, Sorongon said.
The delayed reporting was caused by the delayed submission of death certificates to DOH, he added.
Sorongon is optimistic the zero death record will continue until the end of this month.
Meanwhile, Sorongon disclosed that the hospital utilization rate of this city was 20 percent.
Most admitted in the hospitals here were non-COVID cases, he said.
At the Riverside Medical Center, he said only five COVID-19 cases were admitted, as of this writing./PN
