ILOILO City – Investigators of the Jordan police station in Guimaras Island concluded: The 13-year-old boy found hanging in Barangay San Miguel last month committed suicide.
This was based on a “reenactment” conducted by the police and the evidence found by the Police Regional Office 6’s (PRO-6) Anti-Cyber Crime Unit, according to Police Major Kenneth Bermejo, Jordan police chief.
“Based sa reenactment, pagkatapos nga gin higot sang bata ang kalat, nag-swing ini kag nabunggo ang iya likod nga part sang iya ulo amo ato nga may hematoma,” Bermejo explained.
Police also recovered from the phone photos how the victim claimed his life.
Hours prior to the incident, the victim and his alleged girlfriend reportedly had a talk via a video call.
He also sent pictures of a rope to the girl saying “Amo ini akon gamiton sa pag-suicide.”
“The victim’s girlfriend did not take him seriously. Pero gin tuod-tuod nya,” Bermejo added.
The victim was found dead by residents around 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 26.
At first, the victim’s family believed he might have been killed because of the injury at the back of his head based on the autopsy result.
The victim’s cause of death was strangulation by asphyxia.
Bermejo considered this case as closed./PN
