CAPIZ – A male Person Deprived of Liberty (PDL) with murder cases escaped from Capiz Rehabilitation Center (CRC) recently.
He was identified as certain Artuz, 32 years old of Cuartero town here.
Investigation showed that the inmate cut off a papaya tree and used it as the bridge to climb up the wall and get out.
It was discovered that he escaped when the guards conducted a headcount.
With the help of the Cuartero police, Artuz was captured again. He alleged that he only wanted to go home to get his share from the price of their land which his siblings sold. He, however, failed to get any amount from his siblings.
Because of the incident, acting CRC OIC Jail Warden Eduardo Apaap vowed to investigate to determine who will be held liable for the inmates’ escape.
