ILOILO City – Another housing project for informal settlers will rise in Barangay San Isidro, Jaro district here city.
According to Mayor Jerry Treñas, an initial 240 informal settlers families (ISF) affected by infrastructure projects in the metropolis will benefit from the Uswag Residential Complex housing project.
The 24-square meter 240-unit condominium will rise in a portion of a three-hectare area.
The ground breaking ceremony for the project was held on Feb. 24 and was led by Treñas, Ilonggo senator Franklin Drilon, Cong. Julienne Baronda and officials of the National Housing Authority (NHA).
“Ang duta, ginbakal naton sang July 2021 kag ginhikot gid namon sang ICUPAO ang plano para masigurado nga mapadasig ang ini nga proyekto. Ang ciudad, magapaobra sang tatlo ka-units kag nagpromesa man si Cong. Baronda sang dugang nga anum ka units,” said Treñas.
ICUPAO is the Iloilo City Urban Poor Affairs Office.
Treñas specifically thanked Drilon for facilitating the funding for four low-rise buildings to be built by NHA in the coming months.
The site can accommodate 18 buildings of 60 units each.
The 14 other buildings will be constructed as the funds are allocated.
These will be prioritized for relocatees displaced by government projects.

SM Development Corporation is set to start in March the construction of 120-unit condominium as its socialized housing requirement compliance which will be exclusively for City Hall regular employees with Salary Grade 8 and below that they can pay at affordable terms./PN
