ILOILO City – The city government will raffle off socialized housing units to its qualified low-salaried city employees.
The socialized housing units are the planned 120-unit low-rise condominium “Uswag Low Rise Residential Building”.
“I am urging all qualified employees of the city to apply for socialized housing units to be constructed by SMDC (SM Development Corporation). If all requirements are in, we will have a raffle for 120 lucky beneficiaries next week,” said Mayor Jerry Treñas.
There are more or less 3,000 regular employees at city hall.
Qualified for the raffle are employees with Salary Grade 8 and below and with at least five years of service as regular employee by Dec. 31, 2021 (services as job hire is included). Also, they must not have real property (no house).
Located in Barangay San Isidro, Jaro district, the construction of the low-rise condominium is expected to start this March.
According to Roy Firmeza, head of Iloilo City Urban Poor Affairs Office (Icupao), SMDC already started delivering aggregate materials.
“This is in partnership with SM Prime Holdings and its construction division SM Development Corporation. The project has a P247-million budget,” said Firmeza./PN
