BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental governor Eugenio Jose Lacson announced they will retain the S-PaSS requirement for Bacolod City-bound travelers entering via the Bacolod-Silay Airport even though the city already shifted to “Alert Level 1” or “the new normal” status.
According to Lacson, the S-PaSS is still required because the Bacolod-Silay Airport is located in Silay City and therefore is under the jurisdiction of the provincial government of Negros Occidental.
Lacson said the S-PaSS requirement will not create any hassle to travelers, especially those who are fully-vaccinated against COVID-19.
As agreed earlier with airline companies, Lacson also said flights to the Bacolod-Silay Airport will be increased to three per airline per day from Manila.
Flights between Bacolod and Cebu, meanwhile, have also been increased with Cebu Pacific scheduled every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday; while Philippine Airlines scheduled every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
AirAsia Philippines, meanwhile, remains at two flights per day, per week for their Manila-Bacolod service./PN
