GUIMARAS – For Vice Governor John Edward Gando, the subjugation of the province in Alert Level 1 from Alert Level 3 welcome development for the Guimaras.
To recall, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) announced that starting Tuesday, March 1 until March 15, the province will be under Alert Level 1.
“Gina-abi-abi gid, this is a good development for the province and the people of Guimaras that de-escalate us from Alert Level 3 to Alert Level 1,” Gando said.
According to Gando, the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases are getting lower in the province, even when it is under Alert Level 3last February.
“Kon lantawon ang kaso sang probinsya even the time nga gin-declare under Alert Level 3 syado ka manageable kag nubo ugaling kahibalo ka naman because ang province malapit sa Iloilo City and Iloilo province kag ti nalantaw man namon nga more on preemptive guro ang tikang nga ginhimu sang national IATF amo ni nga rason nga nag-alert Level 3 kami that time but subong nag-level 1 na kami,” Gando added.
Under Alert Level 1 Guimaras, is expected to issued changes in protocols particular for the inbound travel and movement of persons.
“Sang nagligad nga December gin-allow and leisure and hopefully ma-adjust kami sa interzonal and intrazonal movement so I don’t wish to preempt the move of the provincial government but I believe there would be some changes and modification to align our policies with the IATF,” Gando explained.
As of Tuesday, Feb .28, Guimaras has 3,711 confirmed cases, 58 are active cases, 3,469 have recovered and 184 have died.
The number of COVID-19 active cases in the province decreased to 58 where 11 came from the Municipality of Buenavista, 16 from San Lorenzo, 13 from Jordan, 10 from Nueva Valencia, and 8 from Sibunag./PN
