KALIBO, Aklan – The province of Aklan has the lowest hospital occupancy rate among the provinces and highly urbanized cities in Western Visayas, the Department of Health Center for Health Development reports on March 13.
Aklan has a 2.92 percent health capacity utilization rate (HCUR), way below the region’s 23.66 percent.
Out of 137 beds, four COVID ward beds were occupied as of March 13, 2022. Of this figure, no patients had severe or critical symptoms.
Antique recorded HCUR of 3.59 percent, followed by Negros Occidental at 11.35 percent and Capiz at 12.50 percent. Bacolod City also reported HCUR of 18.35 percent, Guimaras (25.86%), Iloilo (32.84%) and Iloilo City at 37.11 percent.
The average daily attack rate per 100,000 population or infected individuals in Aklan is at 0.27 percent, among the lowest in the region. The growth on cases also recorded minus 53 percent in the recent two weeks of February 25 to March 10.
The positivity rate for morbidity week 10 (March 6 to 12) is at 1.47 percent, also the lowest in Western Visayas.
At least 75.65 percent of the population in Aklan already received their full doses, while 82.65 percent of senior citizens also got their two doses of Covid-19 vaccines.
Only 952 individuals in the 5-11 age group or 1.13 percent and 54,768 in the 12-17 age group or 80.21 percent were fully vaccinated.
At least 10,585 or 16.38 percent of the 60 and above age group had booster shots, while 39,379 individuals or 11.61 percent of the 18 to 59 age group got their booster vaccines./PN
