ILOILO City – A Toyota Vios and a delivery truck collided in Barangay Cahaguikican, Pototan, Iloilo yesterday. One died and three others were injured.
The fatality was Andrian Jay Solana, 19, of Barangay Lumbo, Pototan.
His two injured companions were taken to The Medical City – Joemarie Sumbo, 31, and Joseph Garcera, both of Barangay Lumbo.
Their driver, Dan Jay Patolero, 24, of Barangay Talibobg Pequiño, Mina, Iloilo, was confined at the Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan for a head injury and fractured right shoulder.
The collision happened at around 7 a.m. The victims were on their way home from Iloilo City, according to Police Staff Sergeant Richard Cabucos, Pototan police station investigator.
He identified the delivery truck driver as 40-year-old Rey De Pedro of Barangay Lalab, Batan, Aklan.
“While on their way home, napiyongan seguro ang driver kag wala nya na control kag nag agaw sang lane sang truck. Amo to head-on collision gid sila. Wasak gid ang ulo sang awto,” said Cabucos.
Solana, the casualty, was occupying the front seat next to the driver.
