BACOLOD City — Re-elected Cadiz City mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. said the city allocated P850 million for projects aimed at aiding the city’s economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic.
Escalante joined Negros Occidental governor Eugenio Jose Lacson recently in distributing housing assistance to victims of super typhoon “Odette”.
Most of the project under the P850-million fund include the construction of farm to market roads, and drainage systems.
Also included among the city’s projects is to complement the city’s modern agricultural equipment that would be given to local farmers.
“This is also our way to recovery as these projects will also generate additional employment especially to hinterland areas,” Escalante said.
Once completed, Escalante said he will show the projects to the media for the people of Negros Occidental to know and direct them where to pass in going to places especially in the hinterland areas is the city./PN
