BACOLOD City – The chief of police of Escalante City in Negros Occidental has been relieved from his post. He asked for a reassignment.
Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) spokesperson Police Lieutenant Abegail Donasco said Police Lieutenant Colonel Rocky Desear was relieved from his post effective June 23 yet.
Desear received the relief order only recently.
According to Donasco, Desear made a personal decision to be transferred to the Police Regional Office-3 (PRO-3), the regional police force in Central Luzon.
Donasco said Police Lieutenant Glenn Portunes, the deputy police chief of Escalante City, temporarily assumed command of the station as officer-in-charge.
She further added that NOCPPO had yet to designate a replacement for Desear.
Prior to his Escalante assignment in January, Desear was the police chief of Cadiz City, also in Negros Occidental./PN
