ILOILO City – A resident of Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao district was arrested on El 98 Street, Barangay Taytay Zone 2, Jaro district in a buy-bust operation.
Ivan Pedrajas, 25, was taken to the Jaro police station.
An asset of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) of the Police Regional Office 6 bought shabu from the suspect for P37,000.
A further body search led to a total confiscation of 130 grams of shabu valued P884,000.
According to Police Lieutenant Glenn Soliman of the RDEU, Pedrajas was under surveillance for more than a week prior to the buy-bust.
The suspect was a grandson of deceased Barangay Bakhaw captain Remia Gregori, a drug suspect.
He owned a fruit stand in Barangay Desamparados, Jaro district. Police suspected this to be serving as a drop-off point of illegal drugs.
“He was considered a high-value individual,” said Soliman.
