Couple busted in Barotac Nuevo yields P78K shabu

ILOILO – Joint operatives of the Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit (PPDEU) of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) and the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) caught a couple allegedly selling shabu in Barangay Ilaud Poblacion, Barotac Nuevo town.

Ramcy Bayona, 39, and Rona Jane Bayona, 36, were arrested at around 12:10 a.m. on Sept. 23.

Suspected shabu worth P6,800 were sold to a police poseur buyer.

Police confiscated a total of 11.5 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P78,000.

According to Police Major Raegan Oriña, Barotac Nuevo Municipal Police Station (MPS) chief, they have been monitoring the couple for more than a month.

The couple, now in the custody of the Barotac Nuevo MPS, faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
