Man facing 67 counts of qualified theft nabbed in Sagay

BACOLOD City – Charged with 67 counts of qualified theft, a 24-year-old man was served with an arrest warrant on Sept. 22 in Crossing Sawmill, Barangay Himogaan, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.

Jacob Garcia was temporarily detained at the Sagay City police station and would be transferred to Negros Oriental.

The court set a P30,000 bail bond for each count of qualified theft complaint, bringing the total bail to P2,010,000 for the suspect’s temporary liberty.

According to Police Major Roberto Indiape Jr., Sagay City police chief, the arrest warrant was issued by Judge Leoncio Ragay Bancoro of the Dumaguete City Regional Trial Court – Branch 41.

Indiape added that the suspect previously worked as a plant accountant of a gas company in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental./PN
