BACOLOD City – The Provincial Health Office (PHO) and Provincial Disaster Management Program Division (PDMPD) of Negros Occidental will hold a consultative meeting on firecracker-related injury prevention on Dec. 20.
In a letter sent by Department of Health (DOH) Western Visayas regional director, Dr. Adriano Subaan, to Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, the talks which would be held at Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City would tackle the ongoing campaign against fireworks and promoting safe activities for the Christmas and New Year’s Day celebrations.
The 31 municipal and city health officers in the province were also invited to attend the consultative meeting.
Overall in Western Visayas during the 2021-2022 holiday season, the region recorded a 21 percent drop in firecracker-related injuries./PN
