ILOILO City – Three persons were arrested yesterday for possessing suspected shabu and homemade firearms at around 10:25 a.m. in Barangay Isian Norte, Leon, Iloilo.
Bryan Calanuga, 38; Richard Cabarles, 38; and Jefferson Calumay, 43, were all residents of the barangay.
The police recovered 17 plastic sachets of suspected shabu, two pieces of foil-wrapped suspected dried marijuana leaves, a piece of paper-wrapped suspected dried marijuana leaves, and other drug paraphernalia.
A revolver with five bullets and a homemade shotgun with 10 bullets were also seized.
Judge Victorino Maniba of the Regional Trial Court – Branch 39 issued the search warrant.
Leon Police Captain Melchor Tolentino said the three suspects were also in their drug watch list.
Barangay Bakhaw in Mandurriao, Iloilo was the source of the shabu, Tolentino added.
Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act would be filed against the suspects./PN
