BACOLOD City – Around 10,000 workers are expected to be employed with the implementation of the Asenso Yuhum Housing, a settlement for informal settler families (ISFs) under the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) program of the Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD).

The hiring came after a joint venture agreement (JVA) was inked between WRS Holdings, Inc. and Scheirman Construction Consolidated Incorporated (SCCI) and the city government on March 7.

“As we are getting ready to build our Yuhum housing, jobs are open for everyone. Just get in touch with the Public Employment Service Office,” Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said.

Among the initial job openings include those for architects, engineers, electricians, foremen, carpenters, equipment operators, and helpers/laborers.

Workers are also entitled to receive benefits, including a 13th-month pay, Social Security (SSS), Pag-IBIG Fund and Philippine Health Insurance (PhilHealth), he added.

Subong hatagan ta priority kag focus ang pag-create sang obra sa Bacolod para indi kita budlayan sa pagpangabuhi,” said Benitez.

An initial set of housing units would be built at the relocation site in Barangay Vista Alegre (3,000 units) and in the Reclamation Area (7,000 units).

The settlement is a mix of housing units, commercial spaces and open spaces.

Bacolod City would pioneer the implementation of the “Pambansang Pabahay Para Sa Pilipino: Zero Informal Settler Family Program for 2028”./PN
