TALENT manager and entertainment columnist Ogie Diaz wanted to clarify that former Kapamilya actress Liza Soberano never received a formal invitation to audition for the role of Mary Jane in the “Spider-man” movies. This comes after Careless CEO, Jeffrey Oh, claimed Liza was offered by Marvel Studios to audition but was barred by her former management to do so. Ogie couldn’t let the issue slide as he wanted to make sure fans would know the truth.
The talent manager shared that it was a fan of Liza that tweeted years ago that they wanted to see her in the “Spider-man” movie and there was no actual invitation given by Marvel Studios for the actress to audition. Ogie added the actress herself has already debunked this claim years ago.
“‘Yung tweet na ‘yun ay galing sa isang fan na nagpakalat na naniniwala na posible na makapasok si Liza bilang isa sa mga extra or may mga roles doon sa ‘Spider-man’ kung siya ay sakaling mag-a-audition,” he clarified.
Ogie challenged the CEO of Careless to provide proof that the former Kapamilya actress was formally invited by Marvel Studios to audition. He shared Marvel Studios never approached him or Star Magic and ABS-CBN for the actress to try out for the said role.
“Hindi ko alam kung dito nanggaling si Mr. Jeffrey Oh sa tweet ng fan na ‘yun o baka naman meron siya resibo. Mr. Jeffrey, you might want to release the receipt or the proof that Liza received an invitation from Marvel to audition for the role of Mary Jane,” he continued.
He maintained if the Hollywood studio extended an invitation to his former talent to audition for the role, he would’ve given her the go signal to do so.
“Kaya nga hinihingian ko ng resibo kasi baka pag may resibo eh makapag-sorry kami kay Liza. Sino ba naman ang ayaw? Lead [character] ‘yun ‘no, Hollywood movie ‘yun na pangarap ni Liza pero wala nga pong imbitasyon. Alangan naman mag-gatecrash sa audition –,” he shared. (PUSH)
