ILOILO – Four suspected drug pushers were arrested by the combined forces of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) Intelligence Division and the Sta. Barbara, Iloilo police.

The four were Ismael Manajero, 38, of Brgy. Cabugao, Lambunao town; Joseph Castillo, 32, of Brgy. Inangayan, Sta. Barbara; Reynald Sucatron, 39, of Brgy. Balibagan, Sta. Barbara; and Welden Abellar, 33, of Brgy. Tacdangan, Cabatauan.

Police operatives arrested the suspects inside Ophel’s Bar in Brgy. San Sebastian, Sta. Barbara.

They have been under surveillance for quite some time. Tipsters alerted the police about their alleged frequent drug pushing activities at the bar.

According to IPPO director, Senior Supt. Cornelio Salinas, the suspects yielded six plastic sachets of shabu, drugs paraphernalia and P1,544 cash.

The four were detained at the Sta. Barbara police station cell. They face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Acts.

Meanwhile, IPPO director, Senior Supt. Cornelio Salinas is alarmed by reports that some police personnel alert drug pushers on impending anti-illegal drug operations.

Salinas vowed to look into this problem and come up with an assessment of his personnel.

He admitted that such serious offense undermines the easy attainment of the particular mission of a police unit and all the efforts infused for the operations will turn out negative./PN
