ILOILO City – Police crime investigators need more training to enhance their competence, said Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) chief, Gen. Benjamin Magalong.
Magalong was here yesterday to assess the performance of policemen handling heinous crimes.
CIDU investigators need to improve, he said.
His unit is conducting trainings nationwide.
“We need to enhance their expertise because they are dealing with heinous crimes,” Magalong said.
A 10-day seminar will be conducted next month.
Out of the 47 CIDU personnel in Region 6, only 38 passed a recent performance evaluation.
Still, Magalong expressed confidence in the leadership of CIDU Region 6 chief, Supt. Peter Naboye.
He directed Naboye to focus on most wanted persons, organized criminal group, drug dealers and loose firearms./PN
