BACOLOD City – A head-on collision between a multipurpose vehicle (MPV) and a public utility jeepney (PUJ) left one person dead in Barangay Salvacion, Murcia, Negros Occidental, on Tuesday night, April 25.
The 30-year-old Samuel Olimpo was a resident of Barangay Alegria, Murcia.
Olimpo was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital but was declared “dead on arrival.”
Meanwhile, injured were 27-year-old Karl Seith Ong, driver of the MPV and resident of Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City, and his passenger, 24-year-old Vira Taborada.
Police Major Marc Joel Reclamado, Murcia municipal police chief, said Olimpo was drowsy, causing him to grab the opposite lane and hit head-on Ong’s vehicle that was heading to the town proper./PN
