BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is stepping up its efforts following incidents of dumped dead bodies in some parts of the city.
On Monday, May 8, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez ordered the BCPO to conduct a thorough investigation and said, “No need for a timeline. It should not happen again, period.”
Colonel Noel Aliño, acting city director of the BCPO, said yesterday, May 10, the city police is trying its best.
“Sino ba naman ang may gusto?” said Aliño.
He added: “This [also] pertains to the program of Mayor Benitez for a safe and secure Bacolod City on its way to becoming a super city,”
Three bodies were found in barangays Cabug and Felisa since Aliño assumed the post last month. The city’s top cop believes they were killed somewhere. One of the victims was identified by his family from Silay City.
All stations of the BCPO are conducting round-the-clock mobile and foot patrol operations.
Early Tuesday morning, personnel of Police Stations 9 and 10 were deployed at standby points along the Bacolod-Negros Occidental Economic Highway in barangays Cabug and Felisa, respectively.
Around noon, the Bacolod City Mobile Force also deployed its personnel along Palanca Road at the Reclamation Area.
Benitez said the city government will provide the police with their needs, such as fuel and equipment. (With a report from PNA)/PN
