ILOILO City – A call center agent was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Sitio Washington, Barangay Benedicto, Jaro district.
Jenkin Marc Garcia Geroche, 38, a resident of the place and a tattoo artist, was collared at around 10 p.m. on Thursday, June 1 by the Station Drug Enforcement Team 3 of the Jaro police station.
Police Captain Lester Oliveros, officer-in-charge of the Jaro police station, said the suspect’s items were sourced from Barangay Bakhaw in Mandurriao district.
“Suno sa impormasyon nga nakuha namon, sa [Barangay] Bakhaw niya ginakuha ang items kag parokyano niya mga call center [agents],” said Oliveros.
Geroche was under police surveillance for nearly two weeks.
“Na-monitor namon tungod lapit lang sa aton, likod lang sang station. Indi lang kami ang naka-observe nga damo ang gakadto didto sa ila nga mga call center agents, pati mga [barangay] officials,” added Oliveros.
A police poseur-buyer bought a sachet of suspected shabu for P1,500. Three more sachets of suspected shabu were found inside a checkered pouch.
All four sachets had an estimated weight of four grams and a market value of P27,200.
The suspect is now in the custody of the Jaro police and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
