CAPIZ – A 44-year-old woman was shot dead by an unidentified motorcycle-riding gunman in Barangay Poblacion in President Roxas on Monday morning, Nov. 13.

Victim Sandra Baluco, an insurance company manager, had intended to park her motorcycle when she was attacked by what witnesses described as a man wearing a red shirt and white jacket who stood approximately 5’4” tall.

Baluco was purportedly the live-in partner of a barangay captain.

Major Rachelle Garnica, head of the President Roxas Municipal Police Station, said their initial investigation revealed that the victim succumbed to three gunshot wounds.

After committing the crime, the suspect allegedly took the bullet casings used during the attack and quickly fled in the direction of Pilar town.

Authorities have now begun determining possible motives for the killing and are collaborating with Baluco’s live-in partner. They are also reviewing video camera footage from the area./PN
