ILOILO City – Law enforcement authorities recently arrested four high-value drug suspects and confiscated approximately 345 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P2.346 million in separate anti-illegal drug operations.
The Iloilo City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit successfully apprehended alias “Rocky” and “Toto” at 7:12 p.m. on Nov. 29, in Barangay Ingore, La Paz district. Both are currently detained at Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 2, awaiting the filing of charges.
Some 19 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, which weighed approximately 120 grams and were valued at P816,000, were recovered.
On the same night, the operation conducted by the elements of Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit-6 and the ICPS 4 Station Drug Enforcement Team yielded around 225 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1.53 million.
Suspects alias “Borgo” and “Je-R” were apprehended around 8:25 p.m. in Barangay Salvacion Habog-Habog, Molo district. The arrested individuals are currently held at the custodial facility of ICPS 4.
Seized were 16 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu, including the buy-bust item, four knot-tied transparent plastic bags containing the alleged illegal substance, buy-bust money, and several non-drug-related items.
Brigadier General Sidney N. Villaflor, regional director of the Police Regional Office 6, urged everyone to continue working together to curb the proliferation of illegal substances within communities.
“Napigilan na naman po natin ang paglaganap pa ng shabu sa komunidad na magiging dahilan na naman sana ng pagkasira ng maraming buhay. Ipagpatuloy lamang po natin ang pagtutulungan para sa mas ligtas at payapang buhay,” he said./PN
